      <image:title>Home - Max’s Story.</image:title>
<image:caption>Max Oliver was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and a gentle and caring person. Max suffered from anxiety and depression most of his life and on July 30, 2016 he took his own life. Max was more that the disease he suffered from and the legacy he left can be seen in the hearts he touched. Max was a kind soul; he would literally give you the shirt off his back. He spent a lot of time helping at Old Fort Church doing everything from fixing things to playing in the church band. He was a talented musician, playing the guitar, bass, drums, and anything he could get his hands on. He loved giving lessons and teaching people his love of music. Max was only 19 years old when he left us but he packed a lot of memories and love into those years. Those of us that were fortunate enough to know Max can attest to his generous nature, he could be very funny or very quiet and thoughtful. He was extremely smart, reading constantly and enjoyed discussing ‘big’ picture issues regarding God, physics, and spirituality. He touched so many lives in so many ways; he didn’t realize his importance in this world. Max, like many others, didn’t share with us his struggles and internalized them. We would have done anything to help him, we just didn’t know the extent of his suffering. We know we will see Max again in a better place, however until then our hearts our broken. We need to make sure everyone who is in need of help gets it and those suffering with the loss of a loved one are given the proper care and guidance they need as well. The impact of suicide is tremendous in so many ways and the family left behind is dealing with unfathomable grief yet often has little resources to help. Please reach out if you need help, YOU MATTER. Jim, Kathy, and Gabie Oliver</image:caption>
